Mrs. Loafie goes to La France

Posted by Leilani Polk on Fri, Sep 5, 2008 at 2:51 PM

Today, in preparation for Creative Loafing’s upcoming Loafie Awards and my debut as Mrs. Loafie – the show’s official award dispenser – I paid a visit to Bay area vintage clothing institution La France to peruse the shop’s selection of gowns and be outfitted by its team of dress experts. (That's me with Jamie Hunt. She was a great help.)

I tried on three very classy numbers – two red, one black.

Check them out at the jump and tell me what you think.

I vote for a wardrobe change and put all three to good use. :)

True. They all look good. I'd think that since it's an awards show, it should be black, but that first one is really cool.

I think the black dress made me look thin, but Jamie and I agreed that the dress was too old for me. Not enough cleavage.

As classy as the black dress is, I have to agree with Joran and our esteemed Web Editor: the first red one is my fave. I like the shade as well as the neckline.

Glad everyone likes #1 as that's the one I actually picked. And yes, I was outfitted with some fab jewelry, too.
