We love Mad Men at CL central, even though it makes us want to light up, turn our bigot on and buy some of those conical bras. But what to drink while living the 60's high life?
Papermag has some of the answers, although it's a meager survey. I suspect that a bottle of just about anything, with a nice crystal rocks glass, would do the trick.
And it looks like modern day ad men are taking Mad Men to heart, resurrecting the classic ad agency house bars that used to dot offices across NYC, according to Ad Age. (If you don't have an Ad Age subscription, there's a good summary at drinkoftheweek.) No surprise, the agencies that rep liquor producers and wholesalers tend to have the best setup.
Does that mean we can revive all the historical drinking-at-work tropes? Used to be that newspaper men had a penchant for a couple nips off the pocket flask, or surreptitious gulps from the rotgut Scotch in the file drawer. Doesn't really make for glamorous TV, though.
