The Short List — Wed., July 11

Think the latest ratcheting up of the terrorism bugaboo could be directly proportional to how badly the Bush administration has been doing in the press? Remember, if you're take Dick Cheney's side, the terrorists have already won.

Steve Duemig = complete right-wing small-minded conservative asshole with a giant flap that loves controversy and irate callers because it keeps him employed, and I also thinks he enjoyes it. He flies off the handle all spittle, bile and venom and once he gets everyone else fired up and calling in likes to try to take the high road and acts like he's always in control. I do sometimes question how much of it is done for effect, but I can't imagine he's the nicest most squishiest guy you could ever meet. Plus he talks about tennis and golf too much.

I just wish he would talk more about how the Bucs are about to be sold any minute now. Is it unfair of me to point out one time he was glaringly, unabashedly, stridently wrong? Not really. I'm sure Duemig would do the same to someone he was tearing down. But I will say this: Despite the fact that I think he's a total gas bag and probably an ass hole if you really get to know him (I have never met him and am just guessing at his ass hole status from the radio persona, which is theoretically unfair but, again, I don't really mind), he does do football talk better than anyone else in this market. Oh, and Philly sucks.

'he does do football talk better than anyone else in the market' Well that's not saying a whole lot, really. Between his ridiculous Gruden conspiracy theories and his really weird man-love for Mike Alstott (and the Glazers-are-selling-any-day-now crap) it's hard to take him very seriously a s a credible source. When he's objective he's fine most of the time. I enjoy a lot of the other analysts and "insiders" he brings on during football season - and you're right - that's the only time of year I can even stomach his show. And the icing on the gravy is that he a big, fat giant bigot. On air. A lot.

All valid points, especially the part about the "other analysts and 'insiders'" he brings on during the season. It's that lineup of guests that gives the show the tiny bit of credibility it has. And he's totally a bigot. On air. A lot. Which makes the fact that he really seems to want to cock-chug the A-Train all the more delightful.

No one likes a Windows XP slow startup. When you startup your computer you want it to be ready to use immediately. I can not make it that fast, but I can help you fix Windows XP slow startup.First step to fix Windows XP slow startup is to find out what programs are loading when you startup Windows XP. To do this click start, run, then type in msconfig and hit enter. Look at the Boot.ini tab. In the box labeled Timeout change the time from the default 30 to 3. This changes how long it waits to before booting.
