Morning Roundup

Posted by Wayne Garcia on Tue, Jan 30, 2007 at 2:49 PM

No intro needed:

  • Kudos to the Tampa Tribune for writing about each and every cable TV debate in the races for mayor and City Council over the past four days. They're not groundbreaking stuff but important for democracy. The Times attended but did not write daily news stories about what the candidates said, using some of the info in various analysis stories like this one.
  • Ernie Haire Ford ... Tammmmmmm-puh!
  • Nice scoop, but is it really worth that much public money to bring this company to town?
  • Interesting quote. Comment to John Morgan: takes one to know one.
  • Here's my winner for the "Actual Newspaper Headline that Looks Like it was in The Onion" Award today.
  • Fly owners to expand?
  • I'm a few days behind on this, but here is the definitive primer on property tax reform and the various bills that are in the hopper already in Tallahassee. So why does it take a blogger to do it and not the good ol' MSM??
  • This kind of shit about the MSM cracks me up. And how come we don't have scantily clad baristas here?
  • Drawing the doughnut and tossing the hot dog through it.

No one likes a Windows XP slow startup. When you startup your computer you want it to be ready to use immediately. I can not make it that fast, but I can help you fix Windows XP slow startup.First step to fix Windows XP slow startup is to find out what programs are loading when you startup Windows XP. To do this click start, run, then type in msconfig and hit enter. Look at the Boot.ini tab. In the box labeled Timeout change the time from the default 30 to 3. This changes how long it waits to before booting.
