Around The State...

Posted by Joe Bardi on Thu, Jan 5, 2006 at 5:03 PM

And now for the latest from around the sunshine state (as located while trolling cyberspace):

From a Jan. 4 L.A. Times story:  "Cynthia Sommer, 32, moved to Florida from San Diego in 2002 with a

new boyfriend, an ex-Marine, just weeks after an autopsy performed by a

military pathologist found that her husband had died of a heart attack.

"Further toxicology tests determined that Sgt. Todd

Sommer, 23, had died of acute arsenic poisoning."

Skipping down in the story: "'This is the coldest homicide I've had, in terms of being absolutely coldblooded,' Deputy Dist. Atty. Laura Gunn said." Why so cold-blooded? "Sommer's neighbor on the Miramar base told the investigators that

after Todd Sommer's death, his wife threw a series of loud parties and

showed the results of her breast augmentation, which had cost $5,400."

Too bad she's being extradited, as it seems like Mrs. Sommers and Florida would have been a fine match.

And speaking of cold-blooded, someone needs to pay a little more attention to what music is being blasted over the PA at Ray Jay during Buc's games. Channel 10 is reporting that some folks were none to pleased to hear "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by The Scorpions at last Sunday's game against the Saints. You know, the Saints … from New Orleans. The true shame of this is that it took the largest natural disaster in our nation's history to make that fucking Scorpions song verboten at a sporting event. You'd think good taste would have prevailed years ago.
