Haulover Beach Park: (legal)
One of the few legal places to bare it all on a Florida beach. This half-mile stretch of white sand attracts thousands of visitors every day, making it not only one of the top nude beaches in Florida, but also in the world. Unlike the remote beaches often favored by renegade naturists, Haulover has shaded picnic areas, a concession stand, lifeguards, and landscaped dunes. Also one of the only places in Florida that condones naked surfing. 10800 Collins Ave, Bal Harbour, FL 33154. (305) 947-3525.

Playalinda Beach: (tolerated)
While not technically legal, this remote stretch of beach in the Cape Canaveral National Seashore has become a favorite nudist hangout. The beach is underdeveloped and relatively unknown, except by nudists and eco-tourists, making it perfect for avoiding the crowds that gather in more popular sections of Playalinda. The beach's remoteness also means the nudist section has no restrooms or facilities, so plan ahead. Drive four miles along the beach until the road ends in lot 13. The nude section is just north of crossover 13B. SR 402. Titusville, FL 32796.

Lummus Park on South Beach: (topless tolerated)
Located on iconic South Beach amid the hippest hotels and nightclubs in Miami. The party atmosphere and the high number of European travelers have brought topless sunbathing into vogue. While bottomless tanning may get you some unwanted attention from the patrol, the high concentration of beautiful sunbathers more than compensates for the constrictive swimsuit policy. 10th St & Ocean Dr Miami Beach, FL 33139.

Caliente Resort: (legal)
While Caliente is not on a beach or swimmable lake, it offers a large Vegas-style pool filled with some of the most attractive and party-minded people you will find at any nudist resort in Florida. The resort is located in Land O' Lakes, which is quickly becoming a mecca for naturists. Other popular clothing-optional resorts in the area include Paradise Lakes and Lake Como Family Resort. 21240 Gran Via Boulevard Land O' Lakes, FL. 34637.

Hobe Sound: (tolerated)
Not as trafficked, nor as accessible, particularly in the Wildlife Refuge section, which is why it appeals to nudists. Due to the number of mansions in the area, the beach is a favorite among wealthy naturists. 13640 Southeast Federal Highway
Hobe Sound, FL 33455. (772) 546-6141.

Apollo Beach: (tolerated)
Not to be confused with the city on Tampa Bay, this nude-friendly beach is located near Daytona on the northern side of Canaveral National Seashore. While nude sunbathing is not technically legal, Volusia County is more tolerant of naturists than adjacent Brevard County. On Fla A1A at the southern-most end in New Smyrna Beach.

St. Lucia Inlet State Preserve: (tolerated)
This barrier island near Hobe Sound is only accessible by boat, which is perhaps why it has attracted so many nudists. The nature preserve offers visitors a taste of Florida in all its raw splendor, including humans in their natural state. 4810 S.E. Cove Road Stuart, Florida 34997

Other unofficial nude beaches in Florida include: Boca Chica, Blind Creek Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore, Navarre Beach at Eglin Air Force Base, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge
