It's that time of year again — time to grab a couple of chairs, some snacks, a cold bottle of rosé and head to North Straub Park in St. Petersburg, because Movies in the Park returns for its ninth year. As with each of these twice-yearly excuses to eat a picnic on Tampa Bay, the free films on offer include family-friendly and fun flicks. Each Thursday evening starts with live music at 6 p.m.; the films start at dark.
Coast Bike Share offers a free bike valet for anyone who wants to pedal there instead of fighting for parking, and if you don't feel like packing a picnic, there are plenty of food vendors on hand to help you fill your belly.
Here's what films Preserve the 'Burg will show next month:
Oct. 4: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, with Este Loves & Friends playing before the show.
Oct. 11: Clueless, with Nichols & Hopper playing before the show.
Oct. 18: Hidden Figures, with Sunset Bridge Band playing before the show.
Oct. 25: Hocus Pocus, with King Complex playing before the show. Also, if you come in costume, you could win a prize.
