After many requests, Inkwood Books is launching its Book Club Thursday, July 17, 7 p.m. Moderated by local editor Lorin Oberweger, the club will discuss Dave Eggers’ new novel, The Circle, at its first meeting.

Oral Fixation LGBTQ Open Mic Got a rant or a story or a poem? Pick up the mic and show off your stuff at Oral Fixation’s LGBTQ monthly open mic on Thursday, July 17, at Ybor City’s R Bar, 1820 N. 15th St., Tampa. Doors open at 9 p.m. Performers of all types are welcome and encouraged to share their art.


Author Talk: Anya Kassoff
The veggie chef and author of The Vibrant Table will visit the St. Petersburg Main Library for its next Author Talk, Saturday, July 19, 2 p.m. She’ll discuss her new book and field questions from the audience.

Summer Campfire Tales Barley Mow Brewing Company is teaming up with Wordier Than Thou for a night of local myths, legends and lore. There will be five local storytellers present plus $1 off on selected drafts. Guests include Indy McDaniel, Ross Tarr, Russil Tamsen, Billie Noakes, Susan Adger and Delaney Rose.
