Do This: Top 10 weekend events

Celebrate Pride, catch some art and theater, indulge in World Cup mania and hit the beach for some fun and good reads.

FRIDAY

El Mundialito: The World Cup may be taking the day off in Brazil, but an international soccer tournament, dubbed the Mini World Cup, will take place just a few miles away today. Read more about it here.

In the mood for adventurous art and music? Head to the Venture Compound at 8 p.m. for live bands and the Rachel Coderre: Fall Risk art show (illustration pictured right). Word is that Cycle Brewing is donating a keg of "Foty" malt liquor for the event.

If you need some fresh air and exercise, hop on your bike for the monthly Critical Mass events in Tampa and St. Pete.

Swede Fest Tampa Bay 6: The Swede of Music! See low-budget remakes of your favorite musical films at the USF Fine Arts Lecture Hall, FAH 101, 13001 S. Laurel Drive, Tampa. $5. facebook.com/swedetampabay.

SATURDAY

Colombia vs. Uruguay: It's a war of South American nations in the World Cup, but guess which one has the most fans in Tampa? Not the team that just booted off Luis Suarez for chomping down on Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini and spoiled Italy's chances for advancing to the quarterfinals. If you're a disgruntled Italian-American like me or just want Uruguay rooted out, cheer with hundreds of excited Colombian fans at La Gran Colombia on Armenia Avenue in Tampa with festivities beginning at 1 p.m. and game on a giant screen at 4 p.m. If it's too crowded, several Colombian establishments in West Tampa should be showing the game in a festive environment.

Pride Parade: The annual promenade takes place in the evening for the first time this year. Read about it and other Pride Week events here.

SUNDAY

West Side Story: See a beloved musical powered by some of the best operatic vocals in the state — heck, the world — when St. Petersburg Opera revives a musical theater favorite at the Palladium.

Beach Blanket Book and Zine Swap Grab: Attention beach and book lovers, a unique to hit both sweet spots hits Treasure Island Beach. Read more here.

Tampa Theatre Summer Classic Movies: Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Spielberg classic returns to the big screen at 3 p.m.

All About Steve: Fasten your seat belts for a parody of a Bette Davis classic that benefits Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project. 7:30 p.m. at American Stage.
