Tampa’s Inkwood Books kicks off its summer foodie events with Chef Gale Gand signing copies of her new book Lunch! Tuesday, June 10, 7 p.m. There will also be a demonstration and food tasting.

Learn how to better utilize Facebook to share your work. The Aspiring Writers Publishing and Marketing Meetup.com group presents “Jumpstart Your Author Page” Tuesday, June 10, 6:30 p.m. at McAlister’s Deli in Tampa. Bring your laptop, tablet, smartphone or other device, as well as photos, images or graphics, and create a Facebook cover page onsite.

Work on your blockbuster at Tampa Writers Alliance’s Screenplay Focus Group, which meets Tuesday, June 10, 7 to 9 p.m., at Starbucks on N. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa. The group discusses different forms of screenwriting, and the genre’s rules and conventions.

Safety Harbor Writers and Poets Open Mic takes place Wednesday, June 11, 7 p.m., at Tasting the Vine. All forms of creativity are welcome — poetry, prose, comedy, music and more.

Take a journey into the real lives of teen writers and performers from the Tampa Bay area. Project: Shattered Silence presents its annual show at Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Murray Studio Theater Thursday, June 12 — Sunday, June 15. Tickets are $15 — buy one , get one for the Sunday show.

Wordier Than Thou hosts an intimate version of its monthly storytelling and prose open mic in Dunedin Thursday, June 12, 7:30 p.m. Head to the Showcase Arts Foundation space to share your finest prose, or if you’re just in the mood for listening, catch some tales from our area’s talented wordsmiths. The featured reader is Lisa Rose. She’ll be followed by 10-minute long open mic slots. Suggested $5 donation at the door and refreshments available for donation.

Inkwood welcomes Anya Kassoff, veggie chef and author of The Vibrant Table, for a cocktail party, dinner party, and meet and greet on Saturday, June 14. The cocktail party kicks off at 5 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.
