Bill Maher, showbiz's alternately affable and loathed pundit, will be headlining Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall on Sat., Oct.  25, at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday, May 17, at noon. The host of the Emmy-nominated HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher returns to Tampa Bay to share more of his cheeky and candid observations. Maher sold out his last appearance at Ruth Eckerd Hall in September 2012 on the heels of the Republican National Convention's takeover of downtown Tampa.

With more than 20 years in TV, Maher became a household name as host of the late-night talk show Politically Incorrect (Comedy Central, ABC), from 1993 to 2002, a show that featured a round-table discussion of current events with four guests coming from pop culture, politics and news. His network television tenure ended after he made controversial jokes made post-9/11. For the past 12 years he's been less constrained as host of Real Time, hobnobbing with famous politicians and celebs and reveling in the success of his New Rules.

Along with his two hit shows, Maher has also written five bestsellers: True Story; Does Anybody Have a Problem with That? Politically Incorrect’s Greatest Hits; When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden; New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer and most recently The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody but Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass.

Maher is touring to stay in touch with his one true love:  stand-up comedy, which he began doing in 1979. Along with his weekly television show, he still performs at least fifty shows a year in Las Vegas and in sold out theaters across the country.

Tickets are $50.75-$89.75. Pre-show dining is also available.
