If you like galas, operas and formal wear (and really, who doesn’t) then you’re probably going to want to check out Bella Voce 2014
at the St. Petersburg Opera Compan
The event, sponsored by local entrepreneur/Vanderbilt graduate/writer/apparently good at everything Russell Buchan, is a blitzkrieg of high class. There are performances (hosted by Maestro Mark Sforzini), silent auctions, gourmet dinners, champagne bars and, even better, mandatory formal dress (black ties are optional).
There are two tiers of tickets, VIP and Grand Entrance. VIP access is $200 (per person), Grand Entrance is $125. VIP admission starts at 6 p.m. and Grand Entrance at 7. The one catch is that the tickets do not come in ticket form and therefore must be placed via box office telephone at 727-823-2040. A full breakdown of what each ticket tier entails (there is a lot) can be found at stpeteopera.org
And for those of you who are big spenders (you know who you are), you can be part of the “Make It A Night”
program which includes VIP treatment, a hotel room at the Hilton on the evening of May 10th and a special breakfast with the Maestro the next morning. Tickets for "Make It A Night" run from $300 a person and, again, must be placed by calling the box office.
So lift your glasses, embrace the Aidas, Bella Voce 2014 is here.
